China is a major energy importer in the world. Oil and natural gas imports from Central
Asian countries and Russia account for 16.14% of China's energy imports each year. Central Asian
countries and Russia are China's second largest sources of energy imports. Central Asian countries
and Russia each have their own advantages in energy exports to the Chinese market. Turkmenistan
and Uzbekistan have absolute advantages in natural gas exports, and Russia has absolute advantages
in oil exports. Energy cooperation between Central Asian countries, Russia and China has achieved
greater results. However, as the uncertainty of the international political and economic situation has
intensified in recent years, the strategic significance of energy cooperation between Central Asian
countries, Russia and China has become more prominent.
